Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Science and Technology Innovation (IJSTI) is committed to publishing high-quality research that advances knowledge and innovation in science and technology. To ensure the submission and publication process is smooth and efficient, we ask that authors adhere to the following guidelines when preparing their manuscripts.

Manuscript Types and Length

IJSTI accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles: Detailed studies presenting significant new research findings. These should be between 3,500 and 8,000 words, including references, figures, and tables.

  • Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of the current state of research in a specific area. These should be between 4,000 and 10,000 words.

  • Short Communications: Brief reports of significant, novel findings. These should be no more than 3,000 words.

  • Case Studies: In-depth analyses of specific cases that provide insights into broader trends or issues. These should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words.

  • Technical Notes: Descriptions of new methods, techniques, or apparatus. These should be between 1,500 and 3,500 words.

Manuscript Preparation

General Format:

  • File Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and double-spacing throughout the manuscript.

  • Margins: Set 1-inch margins on all sides.

  • Page Numbers: Number all pages consecutively, starting with the title page.

Structure:

  • Title Page: Include the title of the manuscript, author names and affiliations, corresponding author’s contact information (email and phone number), and acknowledgments.

  • Abstract: A concise summary of the manuscript (up to 250 words) that includes the research question, methods, results, and conclusions. Avoid using abbreviations or references in the abstract.

  • Keywords: Provide 3-6 keywords that describe the main topics of the manuscript.

  • Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and significance of the study. Provide sufficient background to understand the context of the research.

  • Methods: Describe the research design, materials, and procedures in detail to allow replication of the study. For experimental studies, include information on ethical approval and consent where applicable.

  • Results: Present the findings of the study in a clear and logical order, using tables and figures where appropriate. Avoid duplicating data in text, tables, and figures.

  • Discussion: Interpret the results in the context of existing research, highlight the significance of the findings, and discuss any limitations of the study.

  • Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and their implications. Suggest areas for future research.

  • References: Use a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) as per the journal’s guidelines. All references cited in the text should be listed in the reference section and vice versa.

Figures and Tables:

  • Figures: Submit figures as separate high-resolution files (300 dpi or higher) in TIFF, JPEG, or EPS format. Each figure must have a descriptive caption and should be cited in the manuscript.

  • Tables: Tables should be included within the text and numbered consecutively. Each table must have a title and sufficient information to be understood without reference to the text. Explanatory notes can be placed as footnotes to the table.

  • Color: Color figures are encouraged if they are essential to the content. There are no additional charges for publishing color figures.

Citation and Reference Style

IJSTI follows [Insert preferred citation style here] citation style. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all references cited in their manuscript. References should be cited in the text by author and year and listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript. Examples:

  • Journal article: Smith, J., & Brown, K. (2020). Title of the article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), page numbers.

  • Book: Jones, L. (2018). Title of the book. Publisher.

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted through the IJSTI online submission system. Authors will need to create an account, upload their manuscript, and complete the submission checklist. During submission, authors will be asked to provide:

  • A cover letter briefly summarizing the importance of the research and why it is a good fit for IJSTI.

  • A list of potential reviewers (including contact details), although the final selection of reviewers is at the discretion of the editorial team.

  • Any supplementary material such as datasets, additional figures, or appendices.

Ethical Considerations

  • Authorship: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript preparation should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work. This includes funding sources, sponsorship, or any financial interest in the results.

  • Data Availability: Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their research publicly available.
