Abstract

Digital literacy has emerged as a critical skill in the globalized world, playing a key role in determining socioeconomic mobility and access to opportunities. As digital technologies permeate nearly every facet of life, individuals lacking digital literacy are increasingly marginalized, deepening the socioeconomic divide. This paper examines the role of digital literacy in addressing these divides on a global scale, focusing on how digital competence can foster equitable access to education, employment, and essential services. Through an analysis of recent research, the paper explores the challenges and opportunities presented by digital literacy initiatives, particularly in developing countries where disparities are most pronounced. Policy recommendations are provided to enhance digital literacy efforts and promote inclusive socioeconomic development.
